With Chinese New Year 2026 landing on Feb 17, most solar installers are fully booked. But if you are rushing a renovation right now, do not wait until after CNY to think about solar.
Every year, we see the same tragedy: A homeowner finishes their beautiful plaster ceiling and fresh paint job in January, only to realize in March that installing solar means hacking the wall again to run cables. Don’t let this happen to your new home.
The “Conduit First” Strategy
You don’t need to install the full solar system before CNY. You only need to install the “veins”—the DC cables and conduits. This is the smart homeowner’s hack to secure your future energy savings without delaying your move-in date.
1 Concealment Phase (Now)
While your contractors are still on-site doing wiring or plastering, HOMI’s technical team comes in for 1 day. We lay the heavy-duty GI conduits and DC cables inside your ceiling or walls. Zero visible trunking later.
2 Renovation Continues
Your painters and plaster ceiling contractors finish their work over our hidden conduits. Your house looks perfect for the CNY open house.
3 Installation Phase (Post-CNY)
After the festive season (e.g., March 2026), we return to mount the panels and inverter. Since the wiring is already “waiting” at the connection points, the installation is fast, clean, and requires zero hacking.
Why This Saves You Money (and Tears)
- Aesthetics: Avoid ugly external PVC trunking running down your freshly painted facade.
- Structural Integrity: No drilling through completed waterproofing layers or finished tiles in a rush.
- Cost: Hacking walls after renovation costs 3x more in touch-up painting and plaster repair.

Prepare for Solar ATAP 2026
By pre-installing conduits now, you also make your home “Solar Ready” for the new Solar ATAP 2026 applications. While others are waiting for site visits in the post-CNY backlog, your infrastructure is done. You can submit your application immediately when slots open.
Book “Conduit First” Site Visit 🧨FAQ: Pre-Installation
How much does the “Conduit First” service cost?
We typically charge a small mobilization deposit to cover the materials (cables/conduits) and labor for the first phase. This amount is fully deducted from your final solar system package price.
What if I haven’t decided on the system size yet?
We install standard 6mm² or 10mm² DC cables that support systems up to 15kW+ (residential standard). This “future-proofs” your home for almost any system size you choose later.
Can you work with my main contractor?
Yes. In fact, we prefer it. We coordinate with your wireman to ensure our solar conduits don’t clash with your AC or lighting points.
