SuRIA Home 2026: eligibility and deadline checklist before you buy

Treat a rebate as a conditional benefit, not money already in your account. SEDA describes SuRIA Home as RM600 per kWac, capped at RM3,000, for eligible domestic Solar ATAP customers. Commissioning must meet the published deadline of 31 December 2026 or earlier allocation exhaustion. We have not verified remaining allocation on 1 October.
Separate eligibility from sales offers
Put the official programme criteria beside the installer’s offer. A company promotion and a government rebate have different owners, evidence and payment conditions. Ask for the written promotion terms separately. Do not subtract either amount from your budget until the conditions and payer are clear.
Plan backward from commissioning
A signed quotation is not a commissioned system. Ask who owns the survey, technical assessment, installation, testing, utility submission and follow-up. Keep a realistic buffer for roof repairs and incomplete documents; a sales promise cannot reserve an official allocation.
Keep a private evidence folder
Save the bill-account identity, appointment record, approved equipment schedule, commissioning evidence and official correspondence. Verify any bank-detail request through a known official channel. Never post identity documents or account numbers in a public comment.
Before you decide
- Confirm the applicant and electricity account satisfy current official eligibility, including previous rebate restrictions.
- Request a dated programme reference and confirm availability with the relevant authority before committing.
- Record the commissioning target, dependencies and the person responsible for each submission.
- Budget a no-rebate scenario and keep company reward conditions separate from government support.
Discuss your property with HOMI
Homi Solar Malaysia can help turn these questions into a clear property brief. Start with your location, electricity use and the decision you need to make. Keep bills, identity records and detailed customer information in an appropriate private channel, not public comments. An initial discussion is not engineering approval, an accepted quotation or a rebate decision. Ask for a dated written scope, the assumptions used, exclusions and the next responsible party. Recheck changing policy with the relevant authority before committing; do not treat a general article as a personalised design or a guaranteed outcome.

Frequently asked questions
Does an installer quotation guarantee the rebate?
No. Eligibility, commissioning, allocation and official verification remain separate from a commercial quotation.
Is the RM3,000 maximum the amount every household receives?
No. The published calculation, capacity and eligibility conditions apply; the maximum is not an automatic payment.
